The Namibia Investment Promotion and Development Board (NIPDB) and the Ministry of Industrialisation and Trade hosted a trade and investment promotion event in Ghana, seeking to showcase Namibia's comparative advantages as a lucrative trading partner and investment destination.

The event was held on the sidelines of the 53rd General Assembly of the World Trade Centre's Association (WTCA) and attracted over 100 Ghana-based businesspeople from various sectors, including oil and gas, real estate, agriculture, tourism, mining, ICT, arts, and fashion.

Trade and Industrialisation minister, Lucia Iipumbu, delivered the opening remarks, while Nangula Uaandja, Chairperson and CEO of the NIPDB, gave a presentation on investment opportunities in Namibia.

Namibian products, such as meat and meat products, dairy products, pomegranates, dates, maize and wheat products, beer, wine, spirits, cow hides, cosmetics, charcoal, artefacts, Nakara handbags, and coats, were displayed in an exhibition booth according to International Relations Executive Director, Penda Naanda.

Captains of industry and various CEOs engaged with the Namibian business delegation, making the event an ideal platform to exchange ideas and explore investment opportunities.

The WTCA General Assembly is an annual event that brings together high-level government and business delegates from across the globe.

This year's event, attended by over 300 delegates from World Trade Centre Associations from around the world, focused on the theme "Connecting Markets, Creating Opportunities," and explored how globalisation and technological innovation are transforming trade and investment.

Namibia participated at the General Assembly under the sub-theme "Namibia: the land of many opportunities," with a focus on Agriculture, Fisheries, Mining, Tourism, Energy, Logistics Infrastructure, and Real Estate.

The event comes as Namibia is keen to attract foreign investors looking to invest in sectors that offer significant potential for growth and development.
