Prof Anicia Peters appointed NCRST CEO

The National Commission on Research, Science and Technology (NCRST) has appointed University of Namibia Pro Vice Chancellor for Research, Innovation and Development Prof. Anicia Peters as its new Chief Executive Officer.

An astute researcher, Peters’ research areas span Social Computing, Gamification, Gender and Digital Technologies, and Digital Transformation such as Digital Health and Digital Government.

Peters is the former Chairperson of Namibia’s Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) task force, which in August this year officially handed in its country readiness report to President Hage Geingob.

The report aims to assist the Government in harnessing the full potential presented by the confluence of technologies for the Future of Work and the socio-economic development of Namibia.

Previously, Peters served as the Dean of the Faculty of Computing and Informatics, at the Namibia University of Science and Technology (NUST).
