Jerome Namaseb appointed Daures Green Hydrogen Village CEO

The Daures Green Hydrogen Consortium has appointed Jerome Namaseb as Daures Green Hydrogen Village’s Chief Executive Officer.

Namaseb is the Head of Retail Transactional Banking at FNB Namibia, and prior to joining FNB Namibia worked at Old Mutual Namibia in the Actuarial department.

“In addition to his expertise in the financial services industry in Namibia, Jerome has a keen interest in renewable energy and specifically Power to X solutions as the world races towards net zero by 2050.”

He holds a BSc. Hons in Actuarial Science and Mathematics from the University of Manchester, a Bachelor of Economics Honours and Post Graduate Diploma in Management from the Namibia University of Science and Technology (NUST).

Moreover, Lutz-Heiner Otto has been appointed Business Development Manager (Hydrogen and Agriculture) with effect from the 1st of January 2023 on a full-time basis.

Otto is a project manager for a BMBF-funded research project on the development of sustainable water and energy solutions on farms in South Africa.

“In addition to the above Otto has experience in various smart agricultural initiatives across multiple jurisdictions, these include a variety of startups with focus ranging from sustainable and fair-trade products in Vietnam to a seed-based startup offering training and collateral free loans to female farmers in Uganda.”

He is completing his PHD at Germany’s University of Hohenheim in Stuttgart and holds a BSc in Agricultural Sciences and an MSc in Agricultural Economics.

The Daures Green Hydrogen Consortium (DGHC) is developing the Daures Green Hydrogen Village in the Daures Constituency in the Erongo Region, which will focus on green scheme agriculture underpinned by green hydrogen and green ammonia production.

The pilot project intends to show proof of concept and use cases, subsequent phases will scale production to commercial levels over the course of the next few years.
