Industrialisation and Trade Minister Lucia Iipumbu has called for value addition on raw materials to allow for the development of the manufacturing sector.

Namibia’s trade with the European Union has reached a cumulative N$33 billion over the last decade after the country exported goods worth N$24.4 billion to the bloc with imports valued at N$9.2 billion, statistics shared by the Delegation of the European Union to Namibia show.

Namibia has recorded a trade deficit of N$4.3 billion for July 2022 as exports stood at N$7.3 billion against imports of N$11.6 billion, with the overall total trade coming in at N$18.9 billion.

Namibian companies have exported goods and services to the United States of America valued at N$43 million (US$2.7 million) over the past three years under the African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA).

Namibia has recorded a trade deficit of N$2.5 billion with the rest of the world, figures from the Namibia Statistics Agency show.
