The Communications Regulatory Authority of Namibia (CRAN) has appointed Bridget Ellen Dundee as its new Manager: Economics and Market Development.

Dundee, whose appointment took effect on 6 July 2026, will lead CRAN’s economic and market research function, providing evidence-based analysis to support regulatory decision-making, monitor competition in the communications sector, and promote sustainable industry growth, fair market access and improved consumer outcomes.

She previously served as Director: Economics and Sector Research at the Namibian Competition Commission (NaCC), where she was involved in developing and implementing competition policy and conducting market research across multiple sectors of the economy.

Before joining CRAN, Dundee worked for the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) as Programme Policy Officer for Markets and Financial Systems, where she oversaw donor partnerships and engagement with government on social protection initiatives.

Dundee joins CRAN with more than a decade of experience in economic policy, regulation and market development.

She holds a Master of Business Administration, specialising in Management Strategy, Economics and Project Management, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Education (Economics) from the University of Namibia. She also holds a Bachelor of Economics (Honours) from the University of the Western Cape, a Bachelor of Economics from the University of Namibia, and has completed the Executive Management Development Programme at Stellenbosch University.

Commenting on her appointment, Dundee said she looked forward to contributing to the development of Namibia’s communications sector.

“It is a privilege to join CRAN at such an important time for Namibia’s communications sector. I look forward to applying my experience in economic research and regulation to support the Authority’s efforts in building a competitive and consumer-focused market,” she said.

CRAN Chief Executive Officer Emilia Nghikembua said Dundee’s appointment would strengthen the authority’s capacity to support an increasingly competitive communications sector.

“Ms Bridget Dundee’s depth of experience in economic policy, market regulation and stakeholder engagement makes her a valuable addition to our leadership team. We look forward to her contribution towards strengthening economic research and market development at CRAN,” Nghikembua said.
