Aviadev Africa targets new routes, partnerships at Namibia conference
Aviation leaders will convene next week for the Aviation Development (Aviadev) Africa Conference to forge strategic partnerships and explore opportunities for establishing new air routes across the continent.
According to the Namibian Airports Company (NAC), the conference will bring together key influential stakeholders such as airlines, airports, tourism boards, government officials and industry experts.
The conference, which is hosted by the NAC, is said to be the largest ever with over 35 airlines and 400 participants confirmed to attend.
“Better connected African countries and regions through a successful air transport industry can be a driver for increased commerce, trade, tourism, and cultural exchange, which is what we all live for,” said NAC CEO Bisey /Uirab.
He added that the conference serves as a critical platform for collaboration within the African aviation sector. This focus on connectivity aligns with the goals of the Yamoussoukro Decision, which aims to create a Single Air Transport Market in Africa.
“Air travel is critical to NAC’s success because it creates previously untapped opportunities. Giving a boost to the growth and development of Africa’s aviation industry is one of the continent’s most critical regional integration drivers,” he said.
Beyond the conference, the Namibia Tourism Board will host a networking reception , while a Gala Dinner will be held at Droombos Wine Estate, co-hosted by the NAC and the Namibia Civil Aviation Authority.
The Aviadev Africa Conference boasts a lineup of impressive sponsors, including Airbus, Embraer, NACO, NAVPASS, and Tourvest as platinum sponsors and AERCAP, AI12, AirlinePros, Network, Kiu, SITA and South Africa Tourism as gold sponsors.
Fly Namibia, Discover Airlines, and South African Airways are the official carriers, with Gondwana Collections among the silver partners. The Namibia Aviation Training Academy (NATA) serves as the outreach partner for the event.
