Standard Bank Namibia appoints Kavetu and Kavari to new management roles

Standard Bank Namibia has announced the appointment of Tjizomundu Kavetu as Manager of Investment Banking (Energy and Infrastructure Finance) and Kerikora Kavari as Manager of Investment Banking (Corporate Financing Solutions), effective 16 January 2024.

Kavetu, who holds a certificate in Banking from BankSeta, SA, an Honours Degree in Accounting, and a Master of Science in Development Finance, joined Standard Bank Namibia in February 2012 as a call center consultant.

He has held various positions until joining the CIB Operations team in 2017 as a Transaction Manager, focusing on the Namibian portfolio.

In December 2022, he assumed a role at Standard Bank Group in Johannesburg as a Transaction Manager, overseeing the specialized area of Structured Trade and Commodity Finance, a position he held until his recent appointment.

Kavari, who holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Metallurgical Engineering from the Namibia University of Science & Technology and is currently pursuing a Master’s of Management in Finance & Investments at the University of Witwatersrand, joined Standard Bank Namibia in December 2018 as a Graduate Trainee in Corporate & Investment Banking.

He has held various positions in the Corporate & Investment Banking division and, for the past three years, served as the Client Coverage Manager for the Mining & Metals and Energy & Infrastructure portfolio.
