The Banker Magazine has named Standard Bank Namibia winner of the Bank of the Year in the country.
The Bank said the recognition underscores Standard Bank Namibia’s commitment to excellence, innovation, and outstanding service, “setting us apart as a leader in the banking industry.”
The awards aim to reward and promote industrywide excellence in the global banking community and international judges select only one winning bank for each country.
Six of Standard Bank Group’s operations, namely—Standard Bank Angola, Standard Bank Lesotho, Standard Bank Namibia, Stanbic IBTC Nigeria, Stanbic Bank Zimbabwe and Stanbic Bank Zambia, were named the best in their respective countries by the London-based magazine.
“Amidst fierce competition with over 400 submissions, these awards acknowledge the resilience, professionalism, and operational excellence demonstrated by Standard Bank Group operations.”
Standard Bank Group Chief Executive Sim Tshabalala said the recognition underscores the financial institution’s commitment to driving sustainable growth.
“We are proud that six operations within the SBG were selected as winners in their countries. The awards speak loudly about the way we do business, the solutions, and services we offer our customers. What was most noteworthy about the awards was that, in each case, the adjudicators mentioned solutions that met specific market needs in these countries,” he said.
For Standard Bank Namibia, he said the Bank of the Year Award is a testament to dedication to excellence, innovation, and meeting the unique needs of the Namibian market.
