Finance and Public Enterprise minister, Ipumbu Shiimi, has appointed a new Board of Directors for Namibia Wildlife Resorts (NWR), which will be chaired by Ambassador Haroldt /Urib.
Dr. Bianca Tjizumaue will serve as the Deputy Chairperson, and Coenraad Coetzee, Dr. Erling Kavita, Sam Januarie and Yvette Nambahu will make up the board.
The new board takes over from Ambassador Leonard Lipumbu-led board, which had already served its two terms.
“I do look forward to working together with the NWR team to help grow the organization’s business, an important player in the tourism industry of Namibia,” /Urib said, speaking on the new appointment.
NWR was recently allocated N$50 million in the national budget statement for the fiscal year 2023/24 for public and departmental enterprises as well as private industries.
The company operates a wide range of properties throughout Namibia, from luxury lodges to camping sites, and offers a variety of activities, including game drives, bird watching, and cultural experiences.
